RL Engineering has invested in Mastercam CAD/CAM software to support the programming and manufacture of complex turned and milled components. The software gives us greater programming flexibility and access to efficient machining strategies, helping us reduce programming and setup time when introducing new work.
Mastercam allows machining operations to be planned and programmed from component geometry before work begins on the machine. Toolpaths can be developed, checked and refined as part of the programming process, supporting an efficient transition from a customer drawing or CAD model to production.
The software supports the CNC turning and milling work undertaken by RL Engineering, including components with complex profiles, pockets, bores, threads and other detailed machined features. It also gives us more options when selecting machining strategies to suit the component, material and production quantity.
By improving the way new jobs are programmed and prepared, this investment helps reduce setup time and supports consistent production. It is particularly useful for complex components and repeat work, where accurate programming and a controlled process are essential.
The addition of Mastercam strengthens our existing CNC machining capability and helps us respond efficiently to a wider range of turned and milled component requirements.
